Goldfield Ghost Town

So  here is Winnie Pooh all relaxed out on the dashboard of the motor home heading for Goldfield, we all got pretty comfortable being able to ride wherever we wanted too and it was fun riding up there, but we did have to stay out of dads way as he needed to see the road LOL. Once in awhile we did sneak over there.

So as you can see there are not very many people that live in Goldfield, i think the sheriff said there are sometimes 27 people that live there off and on.If you click on the photos they get bigger,and yes they have a sheriff he also owns the town.

So this is the inside of the Saloon, talk about a lot of antiques in here, it was amazing to see all this stuff, so much so that you really couldn't see it all, at least we did't take the time as it was also freezing in there, although one of the town guys came to unlock the door and start a fire in the big pot belly stove.

I won't show you too many photos as i know it has to be boring, but if you ever get over that way look the place up, well worth stopping, oh and they do have some holiday events wich brings a big crowd in

And then there is the bar, they have it stocked with liquor but they say that they can't charge so they take only donations,dad bought a beer.$5

Now don't you think that phones have come a long ways from this one? Who would of ever thought it would be so advanced Sure glad it is .

another building there restoring

They have been restoring the town as best as they can with funds that they get in. Although dad did ask them why there wasn't a sign on the main road to let people know that it was back there, they said they really didn't care to do much advertisement as they liked there small town to be quiete.Mom & dad found it a few yrs ago when they did there ghost town vacation and a nice lady in Beatty who worked at the Chamber told them about it. So this was there first trip back to the place.

And we can't forget what they did to bad guys back in the old days, dad being funny here

Tonapah to Goldfied

So this is Satan who finally got to come out of the cage because mom wasn't sure if she would be okl, she is a bit on the hissy side yet, she sure likes to give all those bigger cats a scare as she tries to make them think she is one tough kitty. Well anyway this was taken on top of the cabover were daddy sleeps, as you can see she is yawning.Been a long day for her in that cage.

this is one of the views we seen from the motor home in Tonapah were we spent the night in the parking lot of a casino, had trucks and other motor homes there as well.

And look at silly Tinkers looking out the window he sure loves to ride in the motor home if you click on the photos you can see them much better.

I don't remember this casino before but Nevada said it had been there well we are heading towards Goldfield which is a ghost town

here is Emery on the counter waiting to get some food, he is really enjoying his RV trip

and here is Winnie looking out the window she really likes her road trip too but has not been all that good she sort of has a lot of accidents when shes not in her cage, but mom says she can't help it, she has a little bit of a medical problem right now, so we forgive her for now....

And here is Miracle, sheloves to jump from the cage to the floor and loves to play in that hammack, you know she was almost dead when they brought her to my mommy and she saved her, she stayed up all night and checked on her every hour to see if she was still breathing, she was so bad, she was nothing but skin and bones, she is all better now though, she had a heart murmur when she went to Dr Low who looked at her eye when she got a bit better, but now they don't hear that anymore so she outgrew that...she's really active too.

Well i best go to sleep for now i will send more photos of the rest throughout this travel.

On the road again

Well we got started about 11 am on Sunday and didn't get all that far but we ended up in McDermitt Nv The weather was so nice couldn't of asked for a better day to travel. But look at that long lonely road.

This was the sunset as we were getting ready to park the motor home in the parking lot of the casino. Yup we weren't planning on driving in the dark but couldn't find a place to park along the way.

Here is the casino that we stayed at in there parking lot and gosh darn the truckers were so nice that they didn't park next to us and keep us awake, but the cold night surely did wake us up as we couldn't get the heater to heat the place up all that good, also had to turn the generator on to work the furnace as the battery died from running it
